Wish to get married to my love one after getting exchanging engagement rings with other one

(Querist) 07 October 2012 This query is : Resolved
Since past more than one year I have a relationship with my female colleague but somehow I thought it would not come off good in longer run and I might not want to be with her for whole of my life and hence got engaged to a girl. She came to know everything about my past relationship before engagement and still she accepted me. After the engagement somehow I am not comfortable with my fiance and didnt even talk to her since than in fact I started feeling for my colleague and missing those moments spent together and fall in love with her. Here I am seeking advise on legal consequences and the available remedies if now I will get married to my colleague legally through registration marriage? Though I want my fiance to be informed about that before I knot with the my colleague.
Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks for your prompt responses and guidance Mr. Nadeem and Mr. Nanda.
First to let you know, I never had physical relationship with my fiance and I am completely fine with paying the engagement expenses too.
What other remedies are available at my disposal if she or her family still resort to legal action?
Does law prohibits two people who wants to live together and instead make them to stay with someone for whole of their life , to whom they do not love?
Like to know the maximum punishment or penalty for such offences if it is so? and the available remedies in such cases?

Thanks
