on the time of arguing appearance of a Prisiding Officer is must. but the meaning of appearance has very wide, concent of prisiding officer is also a part of that.

Presiding officer is the person before whom the matter is going on. He is the decision making officer. Where is the question of his appearance. if he does not appear, who will hear the arguments and who will decide the matter?

Palnitkar g is right.......the walls of the court room have no ears in fact :-)

there has to be an alive Presiding Officer.
