I met with an accident when I was driving my father's bike, We are three sited and run away from the accident place, but Opposite person was hospitalized for 3 - 4 days for head injury and they had my bike's number. At the same time my bike was not insured, As per act, Police have charged IPCT 279 337 and MAV 177 184 on me. So, now I want to know what action should be taken by Police or Court?, kindly answer for my question.

Police shall arrest you in that case and you shall have to obtain the bail. The offence is bailable so there shall not be any problem to get it, however, a trial shall run which shall take 2-3 years. You shall also have to bear Motor Accident Claims Tribunal and as the vehicle is not insured, the entire liability shall have to be borne by your father. It shall be better to make compromise with the injured person at any stage and dispose off both the matters amicably but involving lawyers of both sides.
