Respected sir,

I am staying in a flat in a cooperative society. My issue is -
1.I had requested the copy of conveyance, minutes of meeting from the society in writing. They are not providing it.
My query is-
How can I get the copy of conveyance and minutes of meeting?
Is there any body above the society that I can contact to request them to direct the society to do the right thing.

Please guide.

First you should be share holder in the society,if so you can demand deed of assignment in your favour. If u r member of society, you can ask for these docts. In case u r not getting it file a third party information under aaAaRTI.

If you are not a member of the society you can not ask for any information from it. some information which is in public domain such as audited statement of accounts, list of members, conveyance, lease deed etc, which a co-operative society is under obligations to submit to registrar of CS can be secured by filing an RTI application before the PIO in the office of RCS.

Yes i am a member of the society for 32 years and All the society bills are addressed to me and i have been being paying all the maintenance bills etc.I also have the share certificate issued in my name. The conveyance copy too has my name as the owner.

You have a right to seek information. Most of the co-operative societies acts ( state subject) provide for it. Even byelaws of the societies also provide for it. Make a formal application under RTI and on refusal file appeal before the appellate authority which usually is Asstt. Registrar in the office of RCS.

If you are the old member of this society. And if there is society meeting held of your society, you shall raise this question in meeting itself vehemently as being a bonafied member of Society. Secondly, if you want copy of conveyance, you can apply for certified copy from Sub-registrar Office.
