Repatriation

(Querist) 12 June 2012 This query is : Resolved
I am on deputation, working in Delhi in a sister concern of my Organisation(GOI, coming under Sc. & Tech.). Earlier, I was working at Chennai Office of my Orgn. My service file is still maintained at Chennai Office. (Orgn-HQ is in Delhi)

Now, after completion of deputation, can I report directly at Chennai ? OR, do I require to take specific direction from Orgn-HQ ? (As such, Office at Chennai may ask for such direction from HQ..) Where am I as far as legal/service position is concerned ?

your repatriation order will specifically mention as to where you have to report. If not, you have to seek clarification from the person issuing the repatriation order. You cannot of your join any of the office as you may choose.

You will have to report to the prganisation HQ to take official orders of posting after repatriation. No liability rests with your old office to seek direction from the HQ on your behalf. All cases of deputations and repatriation back are controlled by the organisation HQ. Even if you try to join the previous office at Chennai, that office will direct you to take official orders from the HQ.

absolutely correct opt advise given by my friend mr dhingra so you should report to your new sister concern not with ur chennai office.

As far as place of Original posting is concerned, is there any difference between regular transfer and deputation ? In case of deputation, isn't there any lien on the previous place of working ?

You first need to know the definition of lien. Lien is on a particular post and not on a place of posting.
