Probate of will

Sir,

My mother wrote a will of her property to me and she is no more. The will is registered in Andhra pradesh. Is it compulsory to probate the will?

I am a resident of mumbai now. my mother also expired in mumbai. Can i probate it in mumbai?

Yes if any of the properties mentioned in the Will is there in Mumbai.

As the property is in andhra Pradesh, there is no need to get its probate if it is registered. You may use it as and where it is required.

Rightly advised by Mr Makkad, since in A.P the probate of wills are not required under law.

it may not be mandatory requirement but advisable to obtain a probate to save legal problems later in case of any dispute among other family members
