What Account ? I am giving you information assuming that it is a bank account.

You will have to give it.. It's not a classified information... Anyone can have it..
See Section 24 [Alongwith THE SECOND SCHEDULE] of RTI Act for the list of the exempted departments....

Rest just move according to what your legal officer says [you are a bank you must be having one]

as per the rti act,for revealing such information, you will have to seek the permission of the concerned third party first.

even if he or she objects it,the same could be ignored provided there is larger public interest.

It is a Savings Bank account. Third party (Savings Bank account holder) is deceased. Hence seeking permission does not arise. RTI applicant seeking Nominee details for the Account under RTI Act.

Dear Murali Mohan,

It is a case of merely a nomination, not a case of a confidential will. There is no harm in supplying the information, if the information seeker is providing the account number of the S.B account.

It also does not amount to supplying the information about balance standing at the credit of the deceased, which of course should be avoided. Moreover, only nominee can claim the balance amount of the S.B. account, not the information seeker.

Mr. Dhingra is right, could it be any matter pertaining to legal requirement then only on such cases, its allowed.
