Rotation of judges of hc

(Querist) 21 September 2011 This query is : Resolved
I understand as a routine the HC Judges are rotated from the benches they occupy irrespective of the stages the cases they were handlingstands. Will the leaving judge put a short on where the cases stood on the day he left so that the successor picks up from there or the new judge starts hearing the case from the start.?

for recording evidence the judge who has taken up the new assignment will continue recording evidence from stage it was left by the predecessor.

There is an order sheet in each case. Therefore there will be no difficulty for the fresh judge to pick up the thread from where the earlier judge left it.

They would not start hearing of case from the beginning. They would continue the case.

Except that of oral arguments, they will follow the previous proceedings.

Part heard matters & specially assigned matters will continue to be heard before the same Judge irrespective of change in determination.

Doubt came to me as in consumer and some civil courts the handling of the cases by transferred judges were erratic:they even reopened the cases set for orders by earlier judges and treated the case as though it was admission petition. Apex court in some judgment attributed this to lack of proper judicial training. Let me see what happens in high court. Thanks for experts answers.
