Can anybody say that is there any norms for the Universities to notify the students before conducting exams?
And if so, then how many days, before conducting the exams the Universities should notify the students.
ashok kumar singh (Expert) 30 August 2011
as per my knowledge concern, no such notification procedure would require, thanks.
R.Ramachandran (Expert) 31 August 2011
The exams are supposed to be announced at least 3 weeks in advance. The notification is not required to be given to individual candidates. But the college notice board will have the announcement about the examination date.
Advocate Rajkumarlaxman (Expert) 31 August 2011
The academic schedule is already prepared at the intial stage or admission stage of the year. it may vary a little later on and the dates are in advance displayed and informed to the concerned Schools, Colleges and Education Officer of the District or Region Director. This is i am telling because i own 3 Schools and a College

Dear Anonymous,
If you are a Law Student, why don't you give your name and fill up your profile accordingly, instead of the "Anonymous" tag?
R.Ramachandran (Expert) 31 August 2011
Can you tell which University that you are taking about and you are in which College?
Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 31 August 2011
@ R.Ramachandran Sir, this is my first question in this site, that anonymous tag was wrongly fill by me, i m a law student of 3 years 5th semester in Haldia Law College, my name is Subhabrata Roy,
and the name of my University is Vidyasagar University, West Bengal.

sir here if a student fail in any paper then he have to give exam on that paper again, no provision for review, and what else i say sir we r having lots of problem regarding our course be it 3 years or 5 years or LL.M course.
Advocate. Arunagiri (Expert) 31 August 2011
You may list out your problems and get the solution.
R.Ramachandran (Expert) 31 August 2011
Please indicate whether your exams are on semester basis or annual basis.

When did you join your course.
When was the first examination (semester or annual) conducted.

Yes, whenever a student fails in any paper, naturally he has to again give the examination. There is nothing unusual about it. The question of review or revaluation of the answer sheet in a Professional Examination is not permitted. At best, retotalling can be ordered. Nothing more than that. That is the practice everywhere.
Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 31 August 2011
@ R.Ramachandran Sir,
semester basis sir,
i joined the course in Jan, 2009
our first semester was conducted after 8 to 9 months,

sir i know that if a student fails in any paper he have to give the exam again, i m talking for the review system, bt thanks for the information given by u regarding the review system, i didnt know that.
Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 31 August 2011
@ Arunagiri Sir,

problems -
1) no specific dates of exams
2) no mootcourt provision in the course except final semester
3)no presentation in the course except final semester
4) sometimes the semester will continue for 5 months, sometimes for 6 months, sometimes for 7 or 8 months
5) unable to finish the 3 years course in 3 years or 5 years course in 5 years
6)each paper having 100 marks, out of which 80 is written and 20 is internal, previously(means in our 1st and 2nd semester) for that internal marks we have to give a presentation, a written project and also viva of each paper, this three things was helpfull to us for our future, coz in court we have to talk, bt nw we have to give 3 written tests of each paper for internal, out of that three tests marks assesment for the internal is done

we have nothing for which we will call our course a professional course, its becoming traditional course

The law degree syllabus is being designed by the supervision of the BCI. So, you will be having a syllabus.

If the college is not following syllabus, you can very well complaint to the university and BCI.

The exam dates are announced by the university to their convenience. So, there is no irregularity.

My suggestion is, dont worry about these small issues. Concentrate on your studies, after completing the degree and enrollment, join with a senior. You will see a second university and a good teacher in him. You will learn every thing left out in the college.

Because a good teacher is worth million books.

All the best.
Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 31 August 2011
@ Arunagiri Sir, thanks for ur suggestion, i will remember this, bt the fault was not on the part of our clg, and the syllabus is providing only for the 80 marks for which we have to give the written test, there is nothing mentioned regarding the 20 internal marks.
