Passport impounded

I got a letter after 2 months from MEA,India that my husbands passport is impounded a month ago who is presently working in Australia.I do not know his present resident status earlier he was on long term work visa.

Pls advice that what should I do now and where should i report now so that he can be called back to India to face teh trial pending against him ?

can he still work and live in Australia?

If your criminal case is lying pending wherein warrant of arrest of your husband are to be implemented then it may be prayed to the court to get it done through MEA wich in turn may seek help of embassy of Australia situated in India
