Father son dispute

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 28 July 2011 This query is : Resolved
Hello,

Due to some personal reasons I need to part from my father. I am working.
If I want to legally part from my family what is the process and in this process will I get anything.
There is a flat whose owner is my father and I am the co-owner. What will happen to that flat?

Regards
Ashish

if you have co-owner of the property then will file partition suit thereafter either sale or apportionment it.

Okay.
Other than the flat, Will I not get anything for getting separated. I mean will I get any share in other properties that belong to the family

When you talk about other properties, you have to come out with details like in whose name they are registered; whether it is ancestral or self-earned by the person in whose name it is registered; whether they are joint family properties and if so what proof you have to say that they are joint family properties.
Only after knowing these details one will be in a position to make a fair comment; otherwise not.
