Kindly proovide me information/law regarding cutting of tree.
Is cutting of tree on own land/house amounts to an offence ?
Where i have to apply for getting permission for cutting tree? and also where i can lodge complain if someone violate the law for the same.

If you are cutting trees of valuable type like sandal tree, teak tree etc., you have to get the permission from the forest department.

For ordinary trees you need not get permission.

In every state there are laws prohibiting cutting of trees in non-forest area. Schedule of trees are mentioned in the act.In West Bengal there is an act called "West Bengal Tress Protection and conservation in non-forest areas Act, 2006".
