are there any records of entries of people who migrated to pakistan from india during partition,if yes where can we find them.

YOU MAY CHECK WITH RATIONING DEPT AND ALSO CENSUS DEPT UNDER ELECTION COMMISSIONERS OFFICE PASSPORT OFFICE ,AND ALSO COLLECTORS OFFICE FOR PROPERTY RECORDS OF LAND AND CITY SURVEY OFFICE FOR HOUSE PROPERTY RECORDS FOR TRANSFER OF PROPERTY AND FOR ANY REFERENCE UNDER R.T.I.GOOD LUCK.,

why don't u ask for the same under the RTI act in the aforesaid depatments.

Unfortunately both the aforesaid experts have failed to go in depth the sense of querist. I belong to that family which migrated from that part of India to this part which was separated in the name of Pakistan.

Unfortunately no such list was maintained by India, however, a list of those persons who were compensated with land and property was prepared by the then specially created Ministry of Displaced persons. I had also tried to get such list but failed as I had to mention all that data in my book related to the partition of Bharat.

I agree with Mr.Makkad. The list could not have been prepared because we very well know the way in which the partition took place and how uglier the scene was then. It was chaos and confusion everywhere.

but what about the records of people who migrated to pakistan in 1948 and later.

Some records may be obtained from the records of the office of Commissioner of Enemy properties as the office had seized the migrants' properties & allotted them to immigrants from West Pakistan.
