making physical relationship with a mature girl by promissing her for marriage will amount to rape or some other section will be attracted.

Please read the judgment of the Supreme court of India in Deelip singh Vs State of Bihar reported in 2005 volume 1 SCC 88. If the girl is above 16 years it is not rape. If she is below 16 years,it is rape.The word mature girl does not clearly explain the age of the girl. In this regard it will be good if you read the judgment of the supreme court in Harpal Singh' case reported in AIR 1981 SC 861 or 1981 volume 1 SCC 560.r

The sex on the promise of marriage is treated as rape but the high courts are divergent in its views. Even the Calcutta High Court in different times held differently on this issue.
