DONATIONS FOR ADMISSIONS

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 06 August 2010 This query is : Resolved
Respected Sir / Madam,

I was shocked to know from L.R. Tiwari Engineering College Mira-Road (Dist. Thane)Mumbai (Maharashtra State) when they requested Rupees 4 Lacs as donation for a student who has been following for the admission since the college was under construction and the government had not approve the college, but soon after completing the cnstruction and approval from the Government college started asking 4 Lacs to 6 Lacs Rupees donation from each student, earlier the same college had promise to the same students that this will be our first year where we need students and for this year we will not charge you any money as donation, now due to their promise many students have not approached other colleges where admission were open, but now due to their unexpected demand each student are in big trouble and they do not know what to do as admissions are over in other colleges and this college is demanding a big amount of money, please let me know is this a legal thing that any college can demand donation from their students? if not then what should we do to protect our students.

For money such colleges are pushing innocents children to become a criminal, in this regard what Indian law says and how we can prevent any student instead spoiling their career.

dear anonymous,

there many similar illegal practices like donations and giving bribes etc, everywhere.

If you have proof for these things, you can complaint.

for that do you think, these people will give a valid receipt?

education is big business in India, involving Billions of rupees or sometime trillions.

since every concerned authorities get their share out of the loot, many winks their eyes.

as it is a social evil, there are no immediate remedies.
