Dear Sir/Madam,
I was in a relationship with my girlfriend for the past 3 years, she thinks that im cheating on her, she has access to all my social networking sites and threatens to defame me and my family in public, please advice as what can b done as i am almost on the verge of breaking down and can't handle this mental trauma.
Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Expert) 12 August 2014
as long as she doe snot publish any false allegation you cannot do anything.

You will have to bear the insult as long as she reports truly to anyone on earth.

please come clear with the facts so that a proper advise could be given to you.

Break up this relationship. Cheating on girlfriend during relationship is not a criminal offence though a mirl one.
If she defames you publicly then you have the option of filing civil and criminal cases against her.

Unless she causes defamation, you cannot do any thing. Regarding mental torture it is in lieu of the pleasure you enjoyed with your girl friend.

Well advised, agree with the experts.
Nadeem Qureshi (Expert) 12 August 2014
if she hack your ID or another social site then you may file a criminal case before Cyber crime cell under the Information Technology act.

Well advised by experts, nothing more to add.

Better change your id in the social network, change your password or abandon the network/app itself. Further issues can be discussed when the issue appears.
