What is affidavit? Does it have to be typed on stamp paper? of how much? does it have to be notarized? outside court, there are many advocates that ask variable amount for it? what is actual fees? how to get it done within the actual fees?
An affidavit is a formal sworn statement of fact, written down, signed, and witnessed as to the veracity of the signature by a taker of oaths, such as a notary public.
An affidavit is to be on stamp paper except the affidavits to be filed in the court which may be on plain paper.
It will depend on the nature of affidavit whether it is to be attested by a notary or an oath commissioner or any other officer.
Fees of notaries and oath commissioners are prescribed in the relevant rules.
