Can't serve notice period due to ill health

Hi experts,

Due to high pressure levels from the top management I recently started suffering from Hypertension and this is not helping my Hypothyroidism. My health is deteriorating day by day. My doctor has suggested immediate bed rest for 3 months. My company has a notice period of two months. I can serve more than 15 days. I have doctors certificate and other health records. Can the company hold me against this?

Inform the company about your health issue. The employer would understand your problem.

Hello Sir,

Thanks for the reply. In spite of me submitting the medical certificates and reports, they are not relieving me, I am not able sit or walk. They are making me work the same way!

Talk to senior most level. If you could dispense with Relieving letter then quit it.Nothing will happen.

your health is far more important . stop attending the office . write letter to MD enclosing copy of your medical reports and request that on humanitarian grounds 3 months notice period be dispensed with

15 days notice will not serve the purpose, attend for a day, submit resignation giving 3 months notice, apply for medical leave on the basis/strength of medical advise/ certificate and have bed rest during the notice period

In the given circumstances, if notice period is not reduced, you can as well quit the job if you do not require a discharge certificate.

You apply for Leave on grd of your M.D. Dr.
