Certified copies - during summer vacation.

are the certified copies of a marriage petition (Civil) issued during summer vacation too ?

some local advocates from my town say YES, others say NO.

if courts are closed during summer vacation it would be difficult to obatin certified copies during vacation

Yes, as the copying agency of courts is open in summer vacation also.

local advocates in my town are telling exactly opposite.

this is unethical strategy adopted by them to make extra money.

In vacations, the court does not function. But the office of the court and judicial clerk functions even during the vacation. You can apply for certified copy even during the vacation.

conclusion :

Before entering any litigation, one must have the basic knowledge of the rules & procedures. Otherwise MOST (not all) of the lawyers would take undue benefit of lack of knowledge.

even on saturdays the court does not sit but the clerical and other staff remain present for all the paper works. i also like to add that courts are also never stooped functioning. like you said vacation. its only the regular sitting judge goes for vacation instead of he sitting there is a vacation bench/judge who presides over and carries on the functions of the court. even on sunday you can get bail before magistarte. criminal courts are functioning 24 hours. there is no such rule of vacation there. its only human adjustments as a person has to take rest.

Issuance of certified copies is purely an administrative work and not judicial. It is the office of the court that processes copy applications. One can obtain certified copies on all working days of the office of the court.

Vacation is only for civil court. Criminal courts do not have any such. The magistrate is 24 hours a criminal court and he is not stuck to sitting hours. He can remand and release the accused in his home office when accused is produced before him on holidays and even odd hours.
