Inform the landlord in writing i.e., Issue a legal notice for getting the leak repaired forthwith (a time limit) failing which get it repaired and deduct the amount from rent accrued.

lodge complaint to secretary about the leakages from above flat . it is better to resolve issue amicably and pay 50%of cost of repairs

leakage is very common problem in flats and ask owner of flat to repair it at its own and ur not liable to pay anything to him.
it does not attract any IPC section.

Well answered by experts. the problem can solved amicably, especially since you are the user why don't you bear 50% charges as told by the owner.

agreed with all experts
BUT BUT BUT
either you make him to do repair at his cost. Law is with you. He has practically no defence.
OR
beg for his permission to get it repaired at your cost. he will not even easily permit.

as owner has no defense then what is fun of begging from him.
