sir i love a girl, her father is a lawyer. she is jaat and i am brahmin. our families were known to each other for past 15 years. her mother used to call my father as bhaisahab. now when she had disclosed at her home. her family is not agreeing to the marriage. they are very influential persons. this can turn into a case of honour killing. what shaal i do for the protection of my famiily and me. is this marriage void under the law?

i believe that both are major, then get register marriage and file a complaint at police station for production of you and your family member.

Yes. You can do as opined by Mr. Sheik.
But, as you have told that they are influencial persons, i doubt that they can influence the police too.
If your parents are ready, it will be better to send your parents to talk to her parents. Rest dpends on you.
Mr.Sheik has advised you regarding the best action wihch can be taken legally.

are you already married? on one hand you say they arenot agreeing to marriage on other hand you said is the marriage void .
if you are not married do with consent of both families . if you are in an area where honour killing is rampant do you want your hands to be soiled with blood?

sir v both are unmarried, and want to marry each other. but the course of action for police protection must be advised. and v r from delhi.

I am also having the same opinion that of ajay , Tom and Deepak.
Do not do anything in hurry, to repent in leisure.
As far as Law is concerned, If you are Major,Law is with you, and Police should also be with You.
But try to convince her parents.Do not marry against their wish and Will. Wait till they agree.
Any chances for violence and Blood shedding be avoided at all cost.

Law provides for death sentence if someone kills you but law does not provide for you revival. Law is on your side. Mr Shailesh Shah has advised that life is much more than law. I will add that life is not a matinee show. If you inisist on this marrige then you are sure to loose society the bargain is not worth it. You can see the threads on this site how many marriages fail with 498a cases. None to support the boy in case of love marraige.
