(Querist) 29 April 2018 This query is : Resolved
Hi,

I have a bachelor's degree in IT (B.Tech) and i am planning to enroll for LLB course this year.
I would like to know the age limit for giving magistrate exams in tamilnadu. Currently my age is 31 and by the time i finish LLB, my age would be 34. Please help with the right information

Thanks,
Swaathi

Age Limit (As on 01.07.2012):
(i) For Practising Advocates / Pleaders and Assistant Public Prosecutors -

Minimum Age Limit: 25 Years
Maximum Age Limit: 35 years (For General Category); 40 years (For Reserved Categories)

(ii) For Fresh Law Graduates ( For all Categories) -

Minimum Age Limit: 22 Years
Maximum Age Limit: 27 Years
It could be seen from above that for fresh law graduate maximum age limit in Tamil Nadu is 27 years and for practising Advocates 35 years. You wont fall under practising Advocate category but you fall under fresh law graduate in general category. Your age for the entrance exam to Judicial Magistrate should have been 27 years. But it is 34 years. Hence you are not eligible to apply for Judicial Magistrate post. as you are over aged.

The query suggests no legal elements or legal issues.
