Harassment by landlords

I am living in rented house with my wife and son from last one year, however the landlord is giving us threats to vacate the house since last four months for one or another reasons and threatening us to throw our household in the street off and on, he tries to manhandle me also.
Now the landlord is asking us to vacate the house within one week otherwise we have to face dire consequences, I am looking for a new rented house, but if I didn't get the same in time, I apprehend they will harass us, as they are influential people and their two relatives are working in police department.
It will not be out of place to mention here that the landlord has not executed any rent deed / agreement with us.
Please let me know how to deal with the situation - Thanks & Regards.

For ejection you are governed by the Rent Act Laws of your State. You can ask for police protection.

You can approach court for protection against illegal eviction. Once you approach court you can take help of police. Please appoint advocate and consult with him.

Since last three days my landlord has disconnected my water and electricity supply, though my advance rent till 29/03/18 is still with landlord and I assured him that I will vacate the house before 29/03/18.
Kindly inform me what to do as he has disconnected my basic eminities, I have also reported the matter to DCP Police, but no action is taken and we are suffering a lot

With all the proofs of your self residing in that place you could apply for fresh water supply and electricity connection in your name . Take the help of Local Residents Associations. Land Lords have No Rights for Disconnections.In life we should make all our troubles as advantage. Now get the Water supply and Electricity in your Name and pay the bills up to date by your self.

Why you want to spend and waste your time in Court and with Police. Make an Application to concerned Electricity Office and Water Service Dept mentioning the Urgency with the help of good advocate to implement the same on priority.It would be your permanent remedy.

Complete it on priority and obviously the connection would be given in your name the Tenant's Name which would be the Permanent Remedy for you.

Police has got No Business in interfering in the matters like vacating the tenants etc. Even if you had given any thing in writing to vacate etc it is legally invalid. Police normally takes advantage of the fear, innocence and illiteracy of the people. Be Bold , Be Courageous and handle this issue. You could also seek the help of Free legal Aid Forums in all the Courts.

It is a criminal offence to disconnect water and electricity supply under any pretext and for any reason whatsoever, Police is duty bound to help.you. Submit a written complaint immediately to the nearest police station and endorse a copy to the superior police authorities.
