I am putup at coimbatore,Tamilnadu.Myself ,my one brother and four sisters (6 family members)are going to share our ancestrol propertis, viz.agri lands,as our father and mother are no more,by registering partition deed.we decided to keep the original of the partition deed with the eldest and others to have the copies.Somebody says that the copy document has no value when we go for mortgage for loan etc..Is it correct? If so,then what is the alternate?
Registerig counterpart for eachone will involve more expenses.
Please suggest a suitable solution sothat the copy documents are also have the same validity as that of the original.

You can obtain as much original copies as you can and even duplicate copies have also similar value, if you are obtaining a decree for partition from a civil court.

You r going to register a partition deed for an agricultural land.

After regn. of partition deed you will have to mutated that deed in the revenue record of that area(as you said the land is agricultural). And the concerned revenue officer will write your respective share with your name and if u need a loan from bank in that case you can obtain a certified copy of revenue record from concern officer and bank will give u loan on the basis of that certified revenue record copy(ROR)you need not to have a original copy of that partition deed.

You can have true copies of original from the registrar office.

//Somebody says that the copy document has no value when we go for mortgage for loan etc..Is it correct?//
Certified copies/true copies of partition deed obtained from regd. office is valid for all legal purpose.

But if you want to transfer any kind of right in your share of property, you can say that original is with the eldest of the family. It is acceptable reason.

//If so,then what is the alternate?

Register required number of duplicate copies of partition deed along original.
One original plus required copies, typed in Rs.100/- stamp paper can be presented to the Sub-registrar. No separate stamp duty is levied on duplicate deed.

obtain a copy from the subregistrar office and as certified copy and mention in the partition deed that the original will be retained by whom and it will be produced at anytime in case of verification and moreover that copy is also available.Hence there is no problem.
I think in coimbatore there will be no problem for you.
