False news by the reporter of a newspaper

HELLO SIR
I AM MAHAVEER JAIN .I HAVE A FERTILIZER GODOWN FOR WHICH I HAVE NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE BY THE DISTRICT MAGISTRATE AUTHORITY.I WANT TO ASK YOU THAT A REPORTER HAS PUBLISHED A NEWS WHICH IS TOTALLY BASELESS THAT THE BUSINESS IS RUNNING WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF THE AUTHORITY.AS WE HAVE SUFFICIENT DOCUMENTS OF THE AUTHORITY.
IN THIS CASE WHAT STEPS WE CAN TAKE AGAINST THE REPORTER .

PLEASE HELP ME ON THIS MATTER

Dear Mr. Mahavir,
As a business man, you should try to concentrate on your business, without getting distracted into unnecessary issues, especially when such issues does not per se affect your business.
What will happen on the basis of the report? At best the authorities may visit and verify. If you show the approval by the authority, they will go back. That's all. It is only when your business gets affected because of such wrong reporting you should try to take legal action. In any case, first you have to give a legal notice asking the editor as well as the reporter to publish apology. (Needless to say, you will be first spending the money on the lawyer for issuing the legal notice).

Better Consult your own advocate and Proceed with Defamation Case against the Editor.Every thing would be Set Right.

If your statements are right in proper perspective then it is a fit case where you can initiate both civil and criminal defamation proceeding.
