Use of ll.b. degree

(Querist) 24 March 2014 This query is : Resolved
Sir,
The person is 37yrs old and completed last semester of LL.B.Just now. Took admission when he was 34 yrs.
Also he is working full time in private engineering college. (Graduation in Engineering).
If he cannot become BAR member and Practice then what is the use of getting Law degree now?
Is there any other opportunity or some other advantage?
If he does LL.M. in Bussiness Law now does he have opportunity in LAW ACADEMICS?

Regards

for practicing as lawyer, bar council admission is needed.
if it is 3 year distance LL.B, one will not be allowed to enrol with bar council.you can assist a practicing advocate out of your interest /curiosity.
corporates allow law graduates to work in legal/company secretary divisions.
LL.M in business law will also get similar openings.added may be teaching assignments as lecturer.

I agree with Mr. Rao's opinion that an employed person pursuing law graduation education through distant learning program is not eligible to get enrolled as an Advocate for practicing law as per the rules framed therein.
Your question that "If he cannot become BAR member and Practice then what is the use of getting Law degree now? " should not be placed here instead it should have been asked to your own self, because this is a question of 'ignorance of law', for which there is no excuse. Nobody compelled your friend to take up law studies, right?
However, your question has been properly answered by expert Mr. R.V. Rao, nothing more to add to it.

Thanks. sri kalaiselvan ji.
