whether a complaint case can be withdrawn by complainant

Dear Sir,

I am facing a complaint case under section 200 of Cr.Pc for bailable offence.
my query is that can a complainant withdraw his complaint after showing a reasonable ground. it is pertinent to state here that complainant in my case is state( Drugs Office). if so, please state the provision and ruling regarding to my query

Yes, case against you can be withdrawn by the complainant.

A complainant can withdraw his case u/s.257, Cr.P.C.

because the complainant is State through its drug inspector so a permission from Govt. is required in your case for its withdrawal and complainant in his individual capacity cannot withdraw the complaint until and unless such permission has been granted by appropriate Govt.

Mr. Dinkar the state can file application under section 321 of Cr.P.C for withdrawal of the same, I agree with Shivasurya.
