Can a tenant of a premise claim right of preemption

(Querist) 19 July 2013 This query is : Resolved 
A tenant running a shop in a premise beloning to X for more than 22 years. The owner (X) offers to sell the premise for clearing his debts. The tenant desires to buy the premises. The owner initially accepts but later denies to give in sale to the tenant but recieves a meagre advance from some third party. Co-sharers, relatives & other heirs of the owner not interested to buy the premise also. The shop is the only mean of livelihood for the tenant. Hence he wants to purchase the property.
Now whether the tenant can claim the right of preemption for the purchase of the premises?

NO is the right answer advanced by Mr. Sudhir as tenant does not have any preemptive right to buy a property leased to him.
However out right he can not be evicted even by fresh landlord coming in existence due to sale deed from old landlord.

Tenant is tenant, he has no right of preemption on the referred property.
