Right to claim a property

(Querist) 24 August 2012 This query is : Resolved
my great grand father has purchased a land in 1947, he has 2 sons and one daughter, one is my grandfather and other is his younger brother. My grandfather has three sons and his younger brother has two daughters. Can the son in laws of my grandfathers brother and son of daughter of great grand father have the right to claim the property.

Both have no right in neither ancestral nor seperate property as they are not legal heirs.

Son in law is not a part of this coparcenory, and is not a legal heir to grandfather's brother either.

Son of Daughter of Great Grandfather has no right during the lifetime of his mother in both her Undivided Coparcenory Interest in Joint family property or even her seperate property for that matter.

Hope this helps !

what about the daughters of brother of grand father and sister of grand father.

sons and daughters of sister of your grand father are entitle to inherit but not her husband ( I suppose the sister is not living any more.

The position is same in case of daughters of your grand father.
