Associate member

(Querist) 13 August 2012 This query is : Resolved
can a second holder - X, fill up the form 7 (under bye law 19B & 19C) for applying to be an associate member after the span of more than 10-12 years of becoming members of the society jointly i.e. the flat stands in the name of 1st holder jointly with X, as the second holder.

can X be elected as the committe member before his application as above or before becoming associate member?
can he do so after being elected in and working as an office bearer in the m.committee.?
can he regularise his election in the m. committe by applying for the associate membership later?
can he attend the AGM / SGM without becoming associate member? can he vote?

yes he can become a associate member , stand for elections after becoming a associate member . only first named member can attend AGM . only if first name member authorises then second holder can attend and vote .

what I understand is that X has to fill up the form 7 as mentioned and then can elected as the comm. member and after authority by 1st holder can attend AGM.

But if you can provide your suggestions for the situation, as mentioned, that X was elected as the comm. member without being admitted as the associate member and have also attended general meetings.

how to regularise his appointment?

whether he has to resign first from the comm. and get admitted as the associate member and then get co opted in the comm.?

any other way out?
