Business from home

Dear Sir,

I request information on the following.

1. Can I run a service based business from Home ( like running a web-portal). If yes, will it have any implication on the classification of usage of my house for property tax. The house is owned by me and my wife.

2. Can I register my firm on my residential address which is owned by me and my wife.

3. The firm in question is a proprietorship firm and is operated by me, though in future I may hire more manpower once my venture is stabilized.

Question arises whether you or your wife operate the web portal or business from home or hire services of employees to run your business?

As long as it is only two of you and also the clients etc cause no nuisance to others, it is not illegal to run such kind of business from home address.
