My question is... I know I can identify the IP address, but can I identify the person? Means If in case more people are sharing a computer in an office.. can I identify the person?

In that event only investigating agency may identify. What is the need for you to identify personally?

It could be identified with the date and time stamping by the cyber crime sleuths.

If you identify the IP address, the owner of that IP address has to explain who why when used his IP address to send the msg concerned.

Only the owner of the IP address is accountable. It is the headache of the domain owner to ensure that his system has not been misused by any one.
