Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 03 January 2012 This query is : Resolved
Respected Experts,
An award was passed against me by an Arbitrator. If I want to challenge the said award before the Hob'be High Court, shall i deposit the award amount along with interest and costs or not.
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 03 January 2012
It would depend on the order of the court while admitting the appeal.
District Judge has also got jurisdiction to entertain such appeal.
M.Sheik Mohammed Ali (Expert) 03 January 2012

Normal course for appel we have to pay 50% of value or as mentioned in the order. But it should be prior to the grace of period

No you don't have to deposit any thing while challenging the Award. File your objections in the court Distt. or High court according to the jurisdiction.

I agree with Mr. Harbhajan Singh Thukral
