Property share among brothers!

Hi All,

My mother(not alive) had 4 acre(UNDIVIDED) land,
Me and my brother are two sons of her.
I am doing agriculture on my mother land with that profit i have purchased 10 acre of land from 1969 to 1982 on my name, my brother is staying away from 1976 on his study and govt service(IFS) till now....he is not contributed any thing for my gain...

Now he is asking 50-50 share by telling that " YOU EARNED PROPERTY USING MOTHERS PROPERTY"

Is it legal

if you self earned property, no one not having rights to ask share, if ancestral or your father property both are equal share.

Now, after 29 years, his claim is not legally sustainable.

You may deny his claim.He can not claim in court the property purchased by you in your name.That is your personal property.Ask him to share all his pay because he studied from the very that source in which your effort has been there.Look what he replies.But talk him orally not in writing.If files any case then come back for our opinion.
