Purchse of Agricultural Land

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am working as a Engineer in bangalore and my yearly salary is 5 lakhs, Is it possible to buy agri land?.

My father is Retired engineer and has Agricultural Land which came from his father.

Any Indian, residing in India (not NRI)can purchase and own agricultural land in India. As per my knowledge, only foreigners and NRIs have to obtain prior permission from RBI for purchase of Agrl. land in India.
