(Querist) 26 May 2011 This query is : Resolved
Respected Sir/Madam,

With respect to a sole proprietership firm for example a dealership firm, what are the labour laws that need to be followed?
Can you please tell me the policies and laws that are mandatory for employer and employees to comply to?

labor laws has nothing to do with ownership , it depends on no of workers and type of work.

so can you plese tell me whether a dealership firm with 20-30 employees having service workshop and sales of automobile parts comes under which act and what are the mandatory laws (PF, Gratuity, number of leaves etc.) that the sole employer has to comply with for its employees?

First of all, you will have to abide by the provisions of the Shops & Commercial Astablishments Act of the State where your firm is located. Rest depends upon how big is your firm with how many employees you have recruited.
