i have applied for an extract of a station diary from police station. the application was rejected by endorsing that it could not be traced out, so they can not supply it to me. now i want to preferred an appeal against this decision. i want to know the appellate authority of the above forum.

if the original application was filed under rti act,you can address the appeal to " the First Appellate Authority under the rti act 2005,of the concerned police station itself by regd post,if the correct address is not known.

the application would be routed to the correct addressee by them

While conveying decision on your RTI application, the PIO must have intimated you the complete address and particulars of the First Appellate Authority. In case he has not provided you the particulars, you may either get the same from the website or by visiting the police station where it must have been written on a conspicuous place.
Advocate. Arunagiri (Expert) 09 April 2011
Apply to the SP or Dy Commissioner of Police of that area. Normally they are the appellate authority.

I do agree with Mr. Arunagiri.
