Ur query is without details. Curator in civil law is generally used to mean guardian. If ur query is whether mother can be appointed as guardian of a minor or of a person of unsound mind, and if the persons are Hindus, pl see Sec. 6 of the Hindu Minority and Guardianship Act, 1956. In terms of the section Father and in his absence Mother is natural guardian of a minor son or daughter. In the case illegitimate children mother and in her absence the father is the natural guardian. In all the above cases natural gurdian is legally empowered to the custody of the person as well as deal with the property of the minor chld for its benefit.Court appointment is not necessary.
