Sir,
It is requested to inform that in case of trial under criminal law.

i. Whether fax copy is a admissible evidence? if so, as a public document?(the correspondence is between two govt departments)?
ii. Whether internal correspondence between the Customs and Central Excise Departments is a public documents?

Certainly yes. If you are able to prove the genuineness of the fax,the court can admit it as evidence. No bar. An itra departmental communication between public servants is definitely a public document. Access to the same cannot be denied under any pretext excepting those which are branded as sensitive and classfied as such by the Governments in India.
