Kindly help us
Unfortunately in the influence of some reliable relatives, we made wrong decision to marry our lovely graduate sister to an illiterate person in a village.
He was having good business & ancestral property. Since last four year he came in contact of bad peoples & started to invest his money in IPL/Satta & lost his money as well he took private loan against his property, sold all the jewelry of my sister as well own.
Now situation is being worst, he is started to beat my sister time to time on tiny things or without any reason more over not taking care of his 3 small children & his wife.
His family members try to make him understand, we also many times visit him but he is not listening anybody, he is a big liar, threatening my sister for divorce & trying to sell the house also.
Please help us what legal action we should take to save my sister from his brutal behavior & her rights with 3 children.
Awaiting help as soon as possible.

Ask her to file case under Protection of Women under Domestic Violence Act.

Every district will have a Protection officer, under the DV Act.
Normaly these officers will sit in the District Collector's office.
Let your sister go and meet that Protection Officer, along with a written complaint. The protection officer will do the needful by summoning your brother in law.

You may approach the district social welfare officer of Bijanor district, phone Number 260646.
The protection officer will be working under him only.
In case of difficulty in approaching the protection officer you can contact the private service providers appointed by the govt for this purpose.

Thanks a lot to provide me lots of informatio, really i appreciate it.
Problem is this we are too far from Agra(U.P) our sister(Chandpur, Dist.Bijnour , U.P) &
Bijnour is around 50/60Km away in case of emergency what she supposed to do?
Is there any set format to file complaint/DV in local thana.
It would be very helpful to us, If you suggest any good lawyer in bijnour or Chadnpur.

Directly they are not demanding but we use to do financial help to our sister.
After filing DV / maintenance , If we want to bring our sister with her childerns to our home in Agra, so is it possible to transfer the case form bijnour to Agra for the hearing?

the why is she being tortured if dowry is not expected?
the problem with dowry related laws is that false complainants jump in and the real victims do not even know that dowry is being demanded

50/60 Km is no big distance. People commute this distance daily from coming to office.
If you have already filed a case in Bijnore then only High Court is empowered to transfer it to Agra.
