Hi, i am in merchant navy. I had been convicted in 304b for 7 years. My judgement does not any remark that i can not go to ship. Presently i am on bail granted by allahabad high court and doing my job. My passport is going to be expired next year dec 2017. Plz advice how can i get it renewed? Will high court allow me the full validity passpot 10 years taking the nature of my job in to the considration. Thanks

Contact Passport Authority.
In most cases the PA without direction of court does not reissue passport.

You can apply for renewal within one year from expiry. Better apply after aug. Sept 2017 for renewal. Do not hide any fact.
Discuss with your lawyer and if possible get permission from court for renewal of passport before applying.

Thank you very much for kind response. Plz advice when i apply in high court for renewel of passport, will court give me the benifit of full validity passport because i can not earn my bread and butter without passport. Passport is must for joining the ship. Due to the nature of my job what are the chances that court will accept my application for renewal and issue the order for renewal?

What is the opinion of your lawyer?
High court may not entertain directly.

First of all, ascertain the requirements from Passport Authority Office. They are very friendly and will guide you what to do. You can get the suggested remedy as your right to life is depending upon the validity of passport.
