Television Debates

Popular satellite TV channels like TIMES NOW, NDTV, Headlines Today, News X, etc engage popular personalities to debate in the News channels during prime time on sensitive issues and are well anchored and organised by Top Class TV Journalists like Arnab Goswami, Prannoy Roy, Barkha Dutt, etc.

Our LCI can nominate leading law experts and take up with these channels to participate in various debates. Eminent Lawyers enrolled in the forum cutting across all political party lines can pro-actively involve in these debates and add values to our Advocate profession neutrally. Many prominent advocates like Harish Salve, Mahesh Jethmalani, Jayanthi Natarajan, Manish Tiwari, Majid Memon, etc are simply confined to defend their respective political parties than showing their mettle to enhance values to our profession. LCI should seriously consider this proposal.

Supreme Court's Direction

Supreme Court instructed a prominent union minister regarding distribution of food grains to poor. Does wrongful misinterpretation of simple directions by the apex court by the Minister amount to contempt of court. Instead of initiating action against the minister can our experts explain as to why SC preferred to clarify its earlire directions? Will the same yardstick apply to any other common citizens of this country.

contract jobs

Dear friends,
I signed 3 years contract job, renewable every 11 months. Though the notification was meant for selceting on regular basis, iwas asked to sign the same job on contract basis because i satisfied minimum Qualification as per the MCI norms and the employer wanted higher qualification. Hence the High court granted stay saying my position should not be disturbed and my contract was not renewed after 11 months and I have been working continueosly since 22 months, So what are the chances of my job becoming regular as the employer has not given letter of extention of my Contract.
