Witnesses not attending court

(Querist) 29 December 2014 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir,

I have a question.

what will happen if a witness (not an eye witness) does not attend to court to speak/convey about his witness in a murder case ?

Will court take it serious and will issue a warrant against that person who is not attending the court to speak about the incident/witness ?

what if, witnesses address and phone number get changed and he does not answer to police people when they ask him to come to court on specific date as a witness ?

Dear Sir,

I dont know the technical terms like prosecution witness or defense.

Witnesses are circumstantial evidences collected by POLICE people at the time of filing chargesheet in a murder case.

Can some one tell me, if witness postal address gets changed or phone number gets changed, Still court will issue a bailable warrant if Witness does not attend to court ?
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 30 December 2014
If it is shown that witness event after getting summons of attendance is absent, it can issue warrant.
If summons is not served due to change of address then no warrant is issued.
Gayatri Gayatri (Querist) 30 December 2014
Barman Sir, If a witnesses postal address get changed and also the phone number, Will police people try hard to convey message to the witness that he has to attend the court some how ? or they will leave it....Does it have to do anything with the seriousness of the case(murder case) ?
