What are the restriction on an advocate?

Can a person who is employed on temporary basis with fixed pay in the government sector practice as an advocate?

it depends upon the letter of appointment - advocates are not full timer employees so they if panelled they shd ask the govt authority that you being an Advocate you are the officer of the court so you can't be employee to the govt , like attorney general or advocate general , govt is just a client to u that way if you specifically say you can continue as advocate as the officer of the court else there will be 'conflict of interest.

You are presumed have studied and passed the paper of Advocates Act, 1961 which is one of the compulsory subject in LL.B. in all Universities. If you did not read it, you must read it now/again, your question is already answered there itself.
