Water pump installed by society member

(Querist) 09 February 2022 This query is : Open
Hello,
I live in a co-operative housing society in Palghar (Maharashtra).
We get water once in a day around 8 PM from the storage tank.
I have come to know that one member (who is a society secretary) has installed water pump. I do not have the solid evidence though.
Due to this, I do not get sufficient water-flow in my home.

Can you please let me know how to investigate officially and what actions can be taken against this member who is a secretary of the society ?

Though he is a Secretary you can complain in the General Body meeting and resolve the matter. If not resolved in the General Body meeting, you can report it to the Dy.Registrar of Cooperative Societies of your District and RERA.

Hello,

Yes, raise the issue by gathering like-minded people in society meetings. Otherwise, you can complain to the co-op registrar.

Even the water supplying department/agency can inquire into the matter. Such installation of pumps is unauthorized/illegal.

Are you the only affected member / resident from installation of water pump by Secretary ?

Hello, Thank you for your responses. Since the pipeline arrangement is such that it is common between my floor and that member/secretary, so it is affecting only me.

I know it is illegal/unauthorized to install pump at home. If I discuss this with general body in that case, there is a possibility that the secretary may remove pump for 2-3 days and can again re-install the pump.
Is there a possibility or official way that the society general body can conduct checking when the water comes ?

You can complain to the authority supplying water to your area, ie corporation or Municipal as the case may be.
