Please tell if a property will written in the year 2003(for Uttar Pradesh), but not registerd, is valid or not?

both regd., and unregd., wills have got same value, but if it is challenged you have to prove the execution of will

Get the will probated. Does not make any difference if the will is unregistered.

It is very much valid of it is duly attested by two witnesses.

Thanks a lot. may i know the source from where i could get, that such type of will need not be registered? is it provided in the Indian registration Act, 1908? or is there some other legislation for the same?

pl see REGISTRATION ACT 1908 Sec 18 e)

But it would be better to get the will registered to avoid post death claims etc
