Not allowing students into class.

(Querist) 19 February 2015 This query is : Resolved
Please give solution to the following problem [Pondicherry Central University] .

A Lecturer is is not allowing 36 students to his classes as they failed one of his subject in the previous semester.

They requested him a lot, there is no use even they brought the same issue to the notice of the HOD.

All they are my neighbor department students.

The lecturer is one of the senior in that department and the students are afraid of him [the said lecturer] to complain to the university authorities regarding this as because he will take some other subjects in the coming semesters.

Please suggest, what to do in this context.?

What is the University Rule on this issue. if it debars student in taking class on getting failed to clear one subject then the rule is little harsh.
Whether such Rule is there or not the students can file writ petition in high court to allow them to attend class.

If amicable solution is not possible, either they should move to court for relief or the matter can be taken through student union.
