Marriage certificate

Greeting to all Experts,

The Husband & Wife both residents of Mumbai, got married in Chennai, as per Roman Catholic principles. Also obtained marriage Certificate from the Church.

Now the couple wanted to register the marraige in Mumbai. Kindly provide us with information on, whether the registration can be done in Mumbai or in Chennai. Pls give us the procdures also.

If they are residents of Mumbai for more than 6 months, they can get it registered there.

marriage has taken place in chennai . for registartion you can register it in chennai . for mumbai registration you have to show that you ahve stayed in mumbaifor more than 6 months

In mumbai they can register their marriage.

Since the Christian Marriage are registered by the Church only, I do not think the Church of Mumbai can again issue such certificate.
Better to check the concerned Church.

Marriage of Christians are also registered by Marriage Registrar but that can be done wherein such marriage had taken place viz. in the given matter at Chennai instead of Mumbai.

If they are residents of Mumbai for more than 6 months then mumbai otherwise chennai.

It is easier for you to get it registered in Chennai. Apply with copies of marriage invitations of both sides, photos of both, 2 witnesses with their ID and proof of residence, etc.
