This query had been asked by me before but would like further clarification.
My mother belongs to Scheduled Tribe Category and I belong to General Category(Late father's title). My mother wants to gift me her land property. Some legal experts say that I have to get permission. If not ..are there any judgments handed out by the High Courts or Supreme Court to this effect.

You need not to get any permission for this purpose. Your mother even though she may belong to SC category and your father to General even then there is no restriction for your mother to gift any of her properties to you without obtaining any permission from any authority.
Registered gift deed is required for the immovable property.

No, you being her legal heir there is no requirement for such permission.

No such restriction..a registered gift deed is what she needs to prepare..nothing else

Your mother does not need permission of any body to gift her son any property she owns despite the fact that her son is born of valid wedlock of her being Scheduled Tribe Category and her husband being of general category.
