Civil marriage

(Querist) 14 March 2015 This query is : Resolved
Normally a couple has to be present before the Registrar of Marriages at the time of filing a notice for marriage.

However, if the groom is living abroad, is it possible that he sends an affidavit duly signed by the Embassy and come to India only once - at the time of the marriage.

If this is possible, what formalities and papers (with text) would be required.

Sir,

For registration of the marriage the groom can go once and it will be done ..... No requirement of being present before the registrar .....
